The Opening of the Hotel
When Belén first told me about this project, I knew it was going to be successful. It was not just the opening of a small and charming boutique hotel in a stunning location, such as San Lorenzo de El Escorial, no. It was a personal project of artisan reconstruction of an emblematic building, of recovering something very special for the town, the old Hostal de El Escorial. It was a personal project of artisan reconstruction of an emblematic building, of recovering something very special for the town, the old Hostal Vasco, a reference of the local hospitality industry for many years.
Modern and Attractive Transformation
I remember what I felt when, for the first time, I went up to that terrace. It was in 2014, the building was destroyed by the passage of time, and reaching the fifth floor was dangerous because of that steep staircase that many residents of the village knew. There is nothing left of all that anymore. Only a few details that we were able to keep, today they appear on the walls of some of the rooms and the facade and remind us of the old inn.
